Ecological Area of Municipal Conservation La Bonita - Cofanes Chingual

The Minister of the Environment, Tarsicio Granizo, in the Canton of Sucumbíos, made the formal delivery of the Ministerial Agreement for the Declaration of the Ecological Area of Municipal Conservation La Bonita Cofanes Chingual as part of the Decentralized Autonomous Subsystem of the National System of Protected Areas (SNAP).

This protected area is the second in the country with this denomination, due to the high biological importance, the production of ecosystem services, the extensive area of forests and moors in good condition and the strategic location in terms of connectivity.
