With the purpose of recognizing the daily work that the Rangers do, worldwide has been established on July 31 as the WORLD DAY OF GUARDAPARQUE. The Ecuadorian Ministry of the Environment joins this celebration with the organization of the "FIRST OLYMPICS OF GUARDAPARQUES DEL ECUADOR", an event that will be held on Friday 04 and Saturday August 5 of the current year.

The role of park rangers in public awareness is fundamental to achieving the objectives of conservation of the natural heritage of all human beings. The park rangers consistently contribute to the management plans of protected areas in terms of planning, tourism, control and monitoring, biodiversity management, environmental education and communication.
